They have several locations but this one was on K street. Staff was very nice and seated us quickly. If you are a book lover, the entrance may hold you up from eating. So many options. There is a full bar to the left with seating. Ambiance is amazing. Food: vegan nachos were great and shareable. 1st set of wings were good but the next set wasn't consistent with flavor. Catfish was very good also. Drinks: very crafty and I don't think you cam go wrong. I had the poets mojito and it was potent. I would have it again. We came back the next night for the open mic which was only $15 and an interesting experience. I would come back again.

Wow!!! My family & I had take out here on a Monday and it was incredible!!! We were all commenting on how yummy and homemade everything tasted! the atmosphere was great when we went to pick up the food. If you get a chance you have to check this place out!!

This place is spacious and perfect for casual book club gatherings and poetry exchanges. My friend and I really enjoyed the artistic expressions that this store shows through its indoor decor. We ordered nachos and the chicken panini, both of which were delicious. The nachos come in a shockingly huge portion and everything was fresh, especially the homemade chips and avocado. I especially liked the sauce in the chicken panini. The staff were very friendly and helped take pictures of us when we requested.

I will never not visit one of these locations when I visit DC. Vibes, service, and food are always great quality. This time I tried the sweet potato pancake. It was so fluffy and delicious, with or without syrup. The bacon was perfectly crispy. I would have preferred the honey caramel coffee to be sweeter, but still great overall.

Tasty brunch in D.C.! I visited with my brother and enjoyed a brunch on a Friday morning. We dined outside and the service was great. Following brunch, we checked out the bookstore inside. The food was tasty with lots of good options!

Came here during a visit to DC because our group was mixed on dietary needs and this place was said to have a great vegan selection on a regular menu. Food: I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Chorizo Pasta and the Cauliflower Bites. The food was absolutely amazing. It was plenty of food. The pasta was a bit spicy for me but still worth it. The bites were crispy and not oily and the sauce was amazing. Ambiance: I love the whole bookstore, performance, restaurant concept. It's a colorful and welcoming place. It was empty when we went to dine and no performances were occurring which I thought was odd on a Saturday night. But the place was clean and plenty of seating. Service: I was a bit perplexed by our server. He seemed very confused and kept getting orders wrong from the table. We had to send back a vegan order twice because he didn't understand that we wanted vegan "chicken" a different server had to come to the table to finally get it right. We tried to order hot tea and sweet iced tea was brought out. Some dishes took longer than others to come out including coconut ice cream... it was a bizarre experience. We lugged it off for the same of a good night. But for the prices you expect better I guess. Overall a bit pricey but the food was good. Everyone for the most part enjoyed their meal aside from the mishaps and confusion. Serving sizes were decent.
